The event is expecting over 120 golfers from 19 nations to compete in over four rounds of scratch golf, competing for the title of World Champion in 14 divisions. We have a lot of volunteering opportunties available!
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) has an exciting legacy programme, an integral part of this event and one of the main themes is volunteering in sport. We plan to raise and develop a volunteering workforce that will be centred on the Deaf and hearing communities in the West Midlands and further afield. A workforce that will inspire some people to maintain their volunteering roles in golf or in other sports in the future. Our aim is to inspire and support UK Deaf Sport and National Deaf Sports Organisations to consider hosting more international Deaf sport events in the future and ultimately the Deaflympics.
We need to start somewhere, we want to demonstrate to political decision makers how the Deaf and hearing communities can come together as a force for good to inspire children, young people and adults to volunteer, play and stay in sport and physical activity as a lifelong habit.
We hope that this has inspired you to consider volunteering at the WDGC2020 and we have a wide range of roles available to suit all levels of ability and expereince.
The Role Description written above are advisory and subject to change as the full implementation will depend on how many volunteers we are able to recruit and how well we all achieve the task set before us.
Please read through the Role Descriptions that may interest you. Then you will need to complete the online Volunteers Application form.
